The Social Network

If you are wondering what type of movies to watch, well, "The Social Network" will be the one that I suggest you to go for. Dubbed as the Facebook movie, the movie does not really portray a positive image of Mark Zuckerberg so if you are a fan of the founder of Facebook, this movie might not be suitable for you. Nevertheless, I kinda enjoy the movie...the jokes and the way the actors play their roles are amazing. I like the character that Justin Timberlake played the most.

Well, if you have yet to watch the Social Network, I suggest you to go watch the movie with a bunch of guys...there are a lot of insults to chicks....for example, "I'm CEO, BITCH!". Well, so it's not advisable to watch with your girlfriends. Haha!! I guess that's all...this is the latest movie that I have watched in the cinema.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

On the same day that I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1, I also watched The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 3D version with my both my sisters. Overall, I find the movie is nice, and I easily rate it four out of five. There are several scenes that are really suitable to watch in 3D, so I wouldn't say it is a waste to spend the extra few bucks for the 3D version instead of the normal one. Those who are used to read subtitles to understand the conversation will badly missed the subtitles as there is no subtitles for the 3D version, like most 3D movies.

It started with Edmund trying to get into the British force by faking his id, and Lucy is there to blow his cover. Then Lucy and Edmund go back to their cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb's place, where they are staying while both Peter and Susan are away. Eustace Clarence Scrubb is a rather dour and mean spirited little boy and does not like both Edmund and Lucy, so while they are arguing in Lucy's room, the painting of a ship on the wall comes to life, and the three children fall into the ocean to be rescued by the Dawn Treader - the ship and crew of Prince Caspian, who obviously is now King Caspian.

While Lucy and Edmund are delighted to be back in Narnia, Eustace is less than enthusiastic, and complain like most of the time. Caspian, has undertaken a quest to find the seven lost Lords of Narnia, as he had previously promised to Aslan.

They first make landfall at the Lone Islands, which is nominally Narnian territory, but has fallen into degeneracy--among other things, they participate in in the slave trade. While exploring the Island, Caspian, Lucy, Edmund and Eustace are kidnapped by a group of slave traders to be sold. Caspian and Edmund are brought to the dungeon while Lucy and Eustace are brought to the auction. While inside the dungeon, Caspian and Edmund met with one of the seven Lords, Lord Bern. He told them on what is happening on the island over the years - the sacrifice to the Green Fog (not sure what they name it already). After that, Edmund and Caspian are brought outside for auction, but since they never made it back to the ship, the crew members come looking for them. A fierce fight turn out between the crew members of the Dawn Treader and the slave traders and obviously the Dawn Treader wins the fight. Lord Bern acknowledge Caspian and gave him one of the Seven Swords...stating that Caspian's father would love him to have the sword.

Next, they stop by another island to pursuit the Green Fog and this is where Lucy was kidnapped by a group of creatures that have one leg (what is that call?) to cast a spell so that the unseen will be seen. This is where Caspian, Edmund and Lucy learn about the Seven Swords and what is the Green Fog. Also here they learn that they will be tempted in the pursuit of the Swords - Lucy who desire to be prettier until she wishes she does not exists, Edmund who desire for more power and Eustace who were tempted by the dragon's treasure and later become a dragon...all these which will be happening later in the movie.

Fast forward, they manage to get another 2 of the Seven Swords and continue their journey to the Island of the Star. By now, Eustace has become a dragon and ware of how bad his previous behaviour was, and uses his strength to help make amends by helping the Dawn Treader crew. Soon they reach the Island of the Star where they find another 3 Lords and Swords and gather the swords at the Aslan's table.

At the last island where nightmares become real, is never seen, but this is where they find the last lord, Lord Rhoop and Caspian brings him on board. Suddenly, horrible water monster appear (apparently is Edmund's nightmare) and the crew of the Dawn Treader battle hard against the monster. Eustace as the dragon form also help but then suddenly Lord Rhoop went berserk and throw the Sword at Eustace and Eustace flies back to the Island of the Star where Aslan transform him back to his human form and he gather the last sword with the other 6. Meanwhile the Dawn Treader crew successfully defeat the water monster and the evil is defeated.

Finally the group meet up with Aslan and Aslan show them His Kingdom. Although Caspian wishes to go to Aslan's Kingdom, he knows that he got a lot of work to do in Narnia - as the King of his subjects. Reepicheep seeks the permission from Aslan to go to His Kingdom and Aslan permits him to do so, and so he venture in a small boat through an ocean of flowers until they reach a wall of water that extends into the sky. Aslan tells Lucy, Edmund and Eustace to return to the Earth and that they should learn to know him by another name in their own world. He then sends the children home.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1

I just watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1 over the last weekends with my siblings and my brother's girlfriend. While many friends have already told me that this movie is kind of boring, I found that it really depends on how you really want the movie. I am more towards the plot instead of the fighting scene, so I would say that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1 is not bad actually. I would rate the movie at 4 out of 5.

The movie begins with tRufus Scrimgeour, newly appointed Minister of Magic, addressing the magical world about Voldemort slowly returning to power. Meanwhile, Severus Snape arrives at Malfoy Manor and informs Voldemort when the Order will move Harry from Privet Drive, according to his source. As Voldemort preparing his evil plan to kill Harry Potter, he borrowed Lucius Malfoy's wand to avoid battling with the twin wands and then murders Charity Burbage, Professor of Muggle Studies at Hogwarts.

Back to the good guys, the Order arrives to meet Harry with some of Harry's friends and took the Polyjuice Potion to become Harry's doppelgängers (something like clone). Next, Harry and his duplicates paired began their way to meet at the Burrow in separate direction to avoid Harry being killed in the middle of the transfer. Everyone of them reached the Burrow safely except for Mad-Eye Moody who was killed in the skirmish and George has a bad head wound from a curse Snape conjured. Because of this, Harry felt that he has allowed too many people to die for him and plans to leave the Burrow to find and destroy the Horcruxes, but Ron manages to convince him to stay until after Bill and Fleur's wedding.

Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour arrives at the Burrow and distributes the items from Dumbledore's last will and testament to Ron (the Deluminator), Hermione (personal copy of "The Tales of Beetle the Bard"), and Harry (the first Snitch Harry caught and the missing Sword of Gryffindor).

During the wedding, Harry talks to Elphias Dodge, one of Dumbledore's old friends and the one who wrote about Dumbledore's legacy, and Ron's Aunt Muriel, a gossiper, and learns that the Dumbledore family once lived in Harry's hometown, Godric's Hollow. Suddenly, a Patronus message sent by Kingsley Shacklebolt appears and warns that the Ministry has fallen, Scrimgeour is dead. Then, Death Eaters appear and kill some of the wedding guests in order to search for Harry, so, Harry, Ron and Hermione disapparate to London.

While discussing their next move in a cafe where they are taking refuge, two Death Eaters came and have battle with the three main casts of the story, and the trio won the duel and leave the place for Grimmauld Place, where they discover that Regulus Arcturus Black, Sirius' younger brother, is the R.A.B. from the false locket found at the end of Half-Blood Prince. They find Kreacher in a cabinet and then Kreacher reveals that the real locket was in the house, but Mundungus took it when he looted Grimmauld Place. Harry sends Kreacher to retrieve Mundungus, who explains that Umbridge extorted it from him in return for not revoking his peddler's license.

They capture and impersonate three Ministry members and enter break into the Ministry, but are quickly split up: Hermione to the courtrooms with Umbridge to witness a false trial, Ron to the Head of Magical Law Enforcement's (Death Eater Yaxley's) office to deal with a lingering rainstorm charm, and Harry is left free to wander since he serendipitously copied the Death Eater Runcorn. Harry finds Umbridge's office, but could not find the locket inside the office, and makes his way down to courtroom, and met Ron halfway. They and Hermione stun Umbridge and take back the locket, and attempt to leave the Ministry. However, their Polyjuice Potion wears off, and during the battle to Floo away, Yaxley catches hold of them as they appear at Grimmauld Place.

While Hermione teleports them away to a forest, Ron was hurt in the escape from the Ministry which prevents the group from moving to another location. In the mean time, they try to destroy the locket, but it proves to be indestructible to their magic, so they are forced to take turns to wear it in spite of its negative effect on their morale. As the trio move about, Ron becomes increasingly suspicious and jealous towards Harry who looks to become more than just friend with Hermione - this is also the effect of the locket. Harry and Hermione have argument with Ron and he left the group. Harry and Hermione are forced to teleport away, leaving Ron no way to return even if he wished to.

Harry and Hermione decided to visit Godric's Hollow to meet Bathilda Bagshot, a magical historian who "knew the Dumbledores more than anyone". While their visit to Godric's Hollow, Harry discovers his parent's gravestone, Hermione noticed that an old woman who seems to be observing them while they pay their respects. Harry guesses that the woman is Bagshot, and they follow her to her home. Harry sees a picture of the teen from Gregorovitch's memory, and Bagshot takes him to the attic when he asks her whether she knew the guy. Meanwhile Hermione wanders downstairs and finds signs of a bloody attack, and realizes that the real Bagshot must be dead. At the attic, the woman decomposes before into Voldemort's snake Nagini, and after a fight Harry and Hermione escape with the only casualty being Harry's wand.

In the forest where they spend the night, Harry sees a patronus doe while keeping watch, and follows it to a frozen pond. He discovers the Sword of Gryffindor at the bottom, but as he swims to reach it the locket goes berserk and attempts to drown him. Ron appears and saves him, grabbing the sword, and Harry convinces Ron to try and destroy the Horcrux. When Harry opens the locket using parseltongue, a monstrous black cloud erupts and shows Ron terrible visions - his fear, spiders, a ghostly Harry telling Ron that Mrs. Weasley wanted him for a son, and a ghostly Hermione mocking him and asking why she would choose Ron over The Chosen One, and the two forms begin kissing. Ron angrily attacks the locket with the sword, destroying the Horcrux.

Next the trio decided to pay Lovegood a visits because Harry realizes that he saw that Lovegood wore the symbol that Hermione keeps seeing in the book. At the Lovegood house, Mr. Lovegood teaches them about the Deathly Hallows, which is an invincible Elder Wand, a Resurrecting Stone, and an Invisibility Cloak. However, when the trio attempts to leave, Mr. Lovegood reveals that the Death Eaters have taken Luna, and he must keep them there until they arrive to see his daughter again.

Then the Death Eaters come attacking the place and the trio escape in the ensuing attack, but teleports back to a former campground, where a group of Snatchers are waiting to capture them and take them to the Ministry. Hermione uses a Stinging Hex to disfigure Harry's face, but when the Snatchers see Harry's scar through the swelling they instead take the group to Malfoy Manor to collect a reward that was set for Harry.

Since the Malfoys and Bellatrix cannot be sure that the disfigured person is Harry, despite the fact that he is traveling with Ron and Hermione, they refrain from summoning Voldemort until the swelling dies down. However, Bellatrix sees the Sword of Gryffindor, which she believes resides in her vault at Gringott's Bank. She imprisons Harry and Ron in the cellar, where they find Luna, Ollivander, and a goblin. While that happens, Bellatrix tortures Hermione to try to find out how they got the sword. The goblin was summoned upstairs to be interrogated, and out of nowhere, Dobby appears.

Since Dobby can teleports freely around the manor, Harry asked his favour to free Luna and Ollivander before breaking Harry and Ron out. The two of them then go to rescue Hermione and the goblin, but despite winning the duels with Dobby's help, Bellatrix throws a knife that stabs and kills Dobby as teleports out of the Manor. Harry gives Dobby a proper burial on the beach where they appear.

The movie ends with Voldemort visiting Dumbledore's White Tomb on the islands near Hogwarts, and splits open the coffin to steal the Elder Wand.

enjoying your favourite movie with the 26 inch TV.

If you are not an outgoing person, it is important to make sure that you bring entertainment back to your own home.
In order to do this, it is also important to consider your budget because you wouldn't want to be paying too much on building your own cinema at home. There are a lot of people who would consider getting the projector for themselves and with HD and 3D movies becoming more demanding, there are those who would be getting themselves HD and 3D TV. However, I think what is more important is becoming practical. I will recommend getting a 26 inch TV instead.
There are various types of 26 inch TV. The price ranges from under 300 pound sterling to more than 500 pound sterling. Depending on your need and budget, you could choose one that will not take too much of your budget. Then, you will have spare money to invest in the right stereo so that the sound system will fit your 26 inch TV. It might take some time if you want to choose the suitable ones for you as there are a lot of choices out there.

Well, with your own mini cinema at home, you could now enjoy the entertainment at home. With Microsoft launching Kinect soon, it will be great to use the 26 inch TV to chat, update facebook, and even video call as well as to play games. With so much that you can gain from building your own mini cinema, this is definitely a worthwhile investment, all the more if you are fanatics for movies.

White TV

Well, a lot of people has been talking about the effort done by Google to venture into TV business but many people has forgotten that Apple has long established themselves in the industry. Their white tv with a big screen has been impressive and it is very much like their iphone products.

Besides Apple white tv, we also have Microsoft coming up with the Natal project, and imagine if you could use gesture to choose your favourite movies.

Well, it will definitely help create a better theatre atmosphere when you watch movies at home.

Setting Up A File Sharing Server At Home Without Breaking the Bank

It is not hard to have a file sharing server at home especially with the NAS storage technology. Using the nas storage, we can share files that we stored to the NAS storage to everyone in the house without breaking the bank having to setup a dedicated for file sharing.

Great news is that NAS storage has fallen for the past few years and it might be an alternative to setup a server without the need of real server which could cost a bomb and we might not need all the processing power that a real server has.

Prince of Persia

Releasing the Sand turns back time. Only the holder of the Dagger is aware of what’s happened,” Prince Dastan says in “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”

A collaboration between Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Productions, the film comes across as a “Pirates of the Caribbean” where all the water has been replaced by sand.

Jake Gyllenhaal, known before this film more for his puppy eyes and his swoon-worthy quality, is Dastan, an orphan and honest boy.

The setting is ancient Persia, an almost magical place constantly basked in the most wonderful golden light that gives things a near-precious feel.
One day, Dastan comes to the rescue of another boy who was being unjustly punished, and thus gets the chance (unawares) to display his Parkour skills for the king kindly ruling over the land, King Sharaman (Ronald Pickup). The King already has two boys, Garsiv (Toby Kebbell) and Tus (Richard Coyle), but he decides to adopt Dastan nonetheless, and thus make of him a prince.

The King’s brother, Nizam, (Sir Ben Kingsley), though he does not show it right then and there, is not happy about it, which speaks volumes in terms of how predictable the film will eventually turn out to be.

Dastan the orphan boy grows up into a man who knows no fear. He jumps from camel to camel on their backs, runs on rooftops, walks on walls, and does the most amazing backflips while being tied with nothing but a rope that would, of course, inspire no kind of confidence these days with a genuine pro. What’s even more amazing in these action scenes than Gyllenhaal’s arms and abs is the fact that one can literally see which are the stunts he does himself. Moreover, all fight scenes are beautifully choreographed and don’t rely too heavily on speed, so that one is never lost when watching them. I would said that the fighting scenes, movements and everything are fantastic and at their best.

All is well until the order is given to attack the holy city of Alamut, of which unreliable intel says it is harboring weapons of mass destruction. Again predictably, that too is a lie for all there is in the city is a gorgeous princess, Tamina (Gemma Arterton) although I hardly see her as gorgeous. The princess, who is the guardian of a magic Dagger, which can turn back time by just one minute when you release some of the Sand of Time. The Dagger is also the only object that can break a huge glass-like vessel underneath Alamut, which contains enough of this mythical Sand to swipe everything on Earth. Understandably, all villains want the Dagger and will stop at nothing to get it, which sets the two unlike allies, Dastan and Tamina, on a terrific journey through the desert, which is as fun as it is apparently lacking real substance.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton are unlike allies in “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”

That is not to say that the mission the two have is not urgent enough: just that the viewer experiences its translation on the big screen in a rather passive, though very alert, way. The types that make up the rest of the comic-book atmosphere of the film include Sheik Amar (Alfred Molina), whose clear function is that of bringing comic relief, with his ostrich races and his propensity towards tax evasion and easy money; knife-thrower Seso (Steve Toussaint), who evolves from threatening brute to loyal protector; and, of course, the Hassansins, who are a group of ninja-like warriors who handle incredible weapons with amazing speed and accuracy. All these characters come with stories that are clear from the get-go and leave no room for questions, which is why critics agree the film is too honest with the viewer to hate it, despite its flaws. In the end, order is established with a typical feel-good Disney ending that can’t but bring a smile and thus sum up what has been an amazing and exciting ride, albeit one devoid of real feeling.

Well, if you have yet to watch this movie, make sure you watch it on the Big Screen especially if you want to watch the nice abs, the wonderful jumping and fighting scenes...

Ip Man 2

Ip Man 2

IP MAN 2 starts with Ip Man, as well as young son and heavily pregnant wife (Xiong Dai Lin) in tow, arrives in Hong Kong. Ip establishes his own Wing Chun martial arts school but struggles to bring in students, and therefore an income for his impoverished family, until the arrogant, yet inquisitive Wong Leung (Huang Xiaoming) appears.

After Leung was beaten by Ip Man, he eventually signs up for the martial arts school along with his friends. Before long, many more people are following interest in this new fighting style. However, the other martial arts schools masters, in particular that of Hung Chun Nam (Sammo Hung), are reluctant to let Ip simply set up shop on their turf.

Leung gets himself into a fight with one of Hung's students (To Yu Hong) and is subsequently held for ransom, Ip Man is forced to face Hung and barter for his release.

The film wastes no time in getting to the action and within just a few minutes Yen clashes first with Huang Xiaoming, then rival students and street punks, culminating in a fantastic 20-on-1 melee at an abandoned fish market that brings him face-to-face with Hung.

This encounter sets up the film's centrepiece sequence, as Ip Man is invited to face all the local martial arts masters and must accept any challenge thrown at him, while fighting the whole time on a large tabletop. If he stays up long enough, he will be granted permission to run his school. Inevitably, this leads to a fantastic clash between Donnie and Sammo, as they unleash their Wing Chun and Hung Kuen on each other, all the while struggling for balance on a teetering table. Ip managed to stays up long enough and the match between the two is considered as a draw.

Although initally, it seems that the battle was between the two martial arts master but after spending some time in their next duel, Hung seems to accept Ip as a noble, humble and skillful martial arts master.

It was then that the battle switch to the Chinese and the British because when the boxing champion, Twister somehow insulted the Chinese martial arts, a boxing match between Hung and Twister was started.

It was during the match that Hung was killed. Brutally hit by Twister for so many times on the ring, Hung eventually died. Because of this, the Chinese press write some terrible stuff about the British and then as we all know, Ip Man challenge Twister for a boxing match.

The fighting scene was awesome and it is no wonder that Donnie Yen had so often been credited for his expertise in the martial arts scene. However, overall, the movie is predictable and I would remember it as just another Chinese martial art movies and nothing more.

Iron Man 2

Well, people...Iron Man is back....and this time, with more cool stuff!!

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., who reprises his role as Tony Stark.

Stark has revealed his identity as Iron Man and is resisting calls by the United States Government to hand over the technology. Ivan Vanko has duplicated the technology and built weapons of his own, creating new challenges for Stark.

For those of you who have yet to watch the movie, this is generally how the movie goes:

Six months after revealing his identity as Iron Man, Stark Industries CEO Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), has helped maintain world peace. He re-institutes the Stark Expo in Flushing Meadows, New York, to continue his father's legacy. A United States Senate committee, led by Senator Stern (Garry Shandling), demands Stark release the technology for military application. Stark refuses, declaring that he and the suit are as one while also claiming his competitors are years away from successfully recreating the technology.

Stark is slowly being poisoned by the palladium in his arc reactor, and attempts to find a substitute element have failed. Growing increasingly despondent and thrill-seeking as a consequence of what he believes to be his impending death, he appoints his former personal assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) CEO of Stark Industries, replacing her with Natalie Rushman (Scarlett Johansson).

While racing in Monaco, Stark is attacked by Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), who has constructed an arc reactor of his own, along with whip-like energy weapons. Stark defeats Vanko with the aid of his portable briefcase armor. Afterward, Stark learns that Vanko is the son of his father's old partner, Anton Vanko, who collaborated with Howard on the first arc reactor but was deported to the Soviet Union and died in poverty. Ivan blames the Starks for his family's fate, and seeks revenge. Rival weapons manufacturer Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) has Vanko broken out of jail and recruits him to perfect a line of armored combat units he will use to upstage Stark at his own Expo.

Stark throws what he believes will be his last birthday party and gets drunk while wearing the Iron Man armor and indulges in dangerous activities, forcing his friend, Lt. Colonel James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), to intervene. Rhodes dons Stark's silver Mark II armor and after almost destroying Stark's house in the resulting fight, carries out his previous orders to deliver the armor to the military. The next day, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of S.H.I.E.L.D., approaches Stark and reveals Natalie is undercover agent Natasha Romanoff and that Howard Stark was a S.H.I.E.L.D. founder. Fury gives Stark some of Howard's old artifacts to aid in finding a cure for the palladium poisoning. A hidden message in the diorama of the 1974 Stark Expo proves to be a diagram of the atomic structure of a new element. With the aid of his computer J.A.R.V.I.S. (voiced by Paul Bettany), Stark synthesizes the new element and cures himself. Afterward, Vanko contacts Stark, revealing he is still alive and set on revenge.

At the Expo, Hammer unveils his new military drones, captained by Rhodes in a heavily weaponized version of the Mark II armor. Stark as Iron Man arrives to warn Rhodes, but Vanko seizes control of both the drones and Rhodes' armor, setting them to attack Iron Man. Potts has Hammer arrested while Stark's bodyguard Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) and Romanoff race to Hammer's Queens facility. They find Vanko has already left, but Romanoff is able to turn over control of the Mark II armor to Rhodes.

Eliminating the remaining drones, Stark and Rhodes are confronted by Vanko in his new, more powerful suit of armor. He is defeated when Stark and Rhodes fire repulsor rays at each other, triggering an explosion beside Vanko. Too injured to continue the fight, Vanko ignites his and drones' self-destruct bombs, apparently killing himself in the process. Stark races to save Pepper amid a series of explosions quits her position as CEO. Rhodes departs with the Mark II armor without serious objection from Stark.

At a debriefing, while showing news footage of another event, Fury informs Stark that while he is "unsuitable" for the "Avengers Initiative", S.H.I.E.L.D. wants him as a consultant, which Stark agrees to.

This is taken from Wikipedia

Well, I am impressed by the fighting scenes of course...but more important, I felt that the movie has managed to create a selfless Stark, and the way he dealed with his emotional instability when he felt that he was going to die, that was awesome.

For me, the movie is a good one and those of you who wanna have a great time after watching a movie, Iron Man 2 is a must for you to watch. All the more that I went for dinner with my family and YenLeng after the movie to celebrate Mother's Day. It was just an awesome weekend!!

Lonely Lyrics - English Translation

Where are you? In my white memory is like cotton. You come down, making me cry
Where are you? Are you watching too? You were always the first one who ran to me

My lips, just like the dew
My heart, me feelings come down without a sound

Wait, Lonely I'm Lonely I'm Lonely still
I'm shaking, in my quiet yearning
Again, by my side, by my side, by my side, little by little
Come back, hug me tight, protect me, To Me

Are you waiting too, while watching the same sky?
Maybe you and I are thinking the same thing

Gently, touching my lips, you
My hear, my feelings, go away without a sound

Like this, I'll just believe, I'll just wait
Apart, just for some time, for each other, My Love To You

Wait, Lonely I'm Lonely I'm Lonely still

Wait, Lonely I'm Lonely I'm Lonely always
I'm shaking, in my quiet yearning
Again, by my side, by my side, by my side, little by little
Come back to me, I'll believe, I'll hope
To You

watch Clash of the Titans, in GOLD CLASS...

Well, first of all, the synopsis of the movie was rather predictable. It is more like the "Hercules" sort of advanture. Anyway, besides the synopsis, the acting and action scenes with all the fighting movements are cool basically. Probably because I was watching the movie in a GOLD CLASS theatre, I was feeling more into the mood of the movie. Or maybe it was just the cast of the movie drawing me into it.
One thing for sure, this is a MUST WATCH movie...

Inside the GOLD CLASS cinema...terrific!! This should be the way we watch movies...

The Hurt Locker earns best-picture Academy Awards

This blog will not be complete with some of the news from Hollywood. Well, The Hurt Locker just won best-picture Academy Awards at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards by beating the highest earning movie of all time, Avatar by James Cameron. I will gather the winners' list and hopefully can post the list out by tonight.

Below are the news by Associated Press and more information about Oscars are available at http://www.oscars.org

LOS ANGELES – The Iraq War drama "The Hurt Locker" won best picture and five other prizes Sunday at the Academy Awards, its haul including best director for Kathryn Bigelow.

Bigelow is the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscars to earn Hollywood's top prize for filmmakers.

"There's no other way to describe it. It's the moment of a lifetime," Bigelow said. "It's so extraordinary to be in the company of my fellow nominees, such powerful filmmakers, who have inspired me and I have admired, some of them for decades."

Among those Bigelow and "The Hurt Locker" beat are ex-husband James Cameron and his sci-fi spectacle "Avatar." Bigelow and Cameron were married from 1989-91.

Cameron was seated right behind Bigelow at the Oscars and joined a standing ovation for her, clapping vigorously and saying, "Yes, yes" after she won.

First-time winners took all four acting prizes: Sandra Bullock as best actress for "The Blind Side"; Jeff Bridges as best actor for "Crazy Heart"; Mo'Nique as supporting actress for "Precious"; and Christoph Waltz as supporting actor for "Inglourious Basterds."

The Oscar marks a career peak for Bridges, a beloved Hollywood veteran who had been nominated four times in the previous 38 years without winning. Bridges, who played a boozy country singer trying to clean up his act, held his Oscar aloft and thanked his late parents, actor Lloyd Bridges and poet Dorothy Bridges.

"Thank you, Mom and Dad, for turning me on to such a groovy profession," said Bridges, recalling how his mother would get her children to entertain at parties and his father would sit on the bed teaching him the basics of acting for an early he landed on his dad's TV show "Sea Hunt."

"I feel an extension of them. This is honoring them as much as it is me," Bridges said.

Bullock, an industry darling who had never before been nominated, won for her role as a wealthy woman who takes in homeless future NFL star Michael Oher, who was living on the streets as a teen.

The award wraps up a wild year for Bullock, who had box-office smashes with "Blind Side" and "The Proposal" and a flop with "All About Steve," which earned her the worst-actress trophy at the Razzies the night before the Oscars.

"Did I really earn this or did I just wear you all down?" Bullock asked the Oscar crowd. Bullock gushed with praise for her fellow nominees, including Meryl Streep, who she joked is "such a good kisser."

The supporting-acting winners capped remarkable years, Mo'Nique startling fans with dramatic depths previously unsuspected in the actress known for lowbrow comedy and the Austrian-born Waltz leaping to fame with his first big Hollywood role.

"I would like to thank the academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics," said Mo'Nique, who plays the heartless, abusive welfare mother of an illiterate teen in the Harlem drama "Precious: Based on the Novel `Push' by Sapphire."

Mo'Nique added her gratitude to the first black actress to win an Oscar, Hattie McDaniel, the 1939 supporting-actress winner for "Gone With the Wind."

"I want to thank Miss Hattie McDaniel for enduring all that she had to so that I would not have to," she said, adding thanks to Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, who signed on as executive producers to spread the word on "Precious" after it premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival.

"Precious" also won the adapted-screenplay Oscar for Geoffrey Fletcher.

"This is for everybody who works on a dream every day. Precious boys and girls everywhere," Fletcher said.

Waltz's award was presented by last season's supporting-actress winner, Penelope Cruz, who gave Waltz a kiss as he took the stage.

"Oscar and Penelope. That's an uber-bingo," Waltz said.

Though a veteran stage and TV actor in Europe, Waltz had been a virtual unknown in Hollywood before Quentin Tarantino cast him as the prattling, ruthless Jew-hunter Hans Landa in his World War II saga.

"Quentin with his unorthodox methods of navigation, this fearless explorer, took this ship across and brought it in with flying colors, and that's why I'm here," Waltz said. "This is your welcoming embrace, and there's no way I can ever thank you enough."

"Avatar" won three Oscars, for visual effects, art direction and cinematography, beating "The Hurt Locker" for the latter. "The Hurt Locker" also won out over "Avatar" for film editing, sound editing and sound mixing.

With nine nominations each, "The Hurt Locker" and "Avatar" came in tied for the Oscar lead.

"Hurt Locker" screenwriter Mark Boal, who won the Oscar for original screenplay, thanked Bigelow, calling her an "extraordinary and visionary filmmaker," and dedicated his Oscar win to the troops still in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with those who did not make it home. Boal also affectionately recalled his father, who died a month ago.

Missing from the onstage celebration for the "Hurt Locker" win was producer Nicolas Chartier, who was banned by the academy from attending the Oscars because of e-mails he sent urging members to vote for his movie -- an academy violation.

"Up" earned the third-straight feature-animation Oscar for Disney's Pixar Animation, which now has won five of the nine awards since the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences added the category.

The film features Ed Asner providing the voice of a crabby widower who flies off on a grand adventure by lashing thousands of helium balloons to his house.

"Never did I dream that making a flip-book out of my third-grade math book would lead to this," said "Up" director Pete Docter, whose film also won for best musical score.

Pixar has a likely contender in the wings for next Oscar season with this summer's "Toy Story 3," reuniting voice stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.

Argentina's "The Secret in Their Eyes" pulled off a surprise win for foreign-language film over higher-profile entries that included Germany's "The White Ribbon" and France's "A Prophet."

"Crazy Heart" also won for original song with its theme tune "The Weary Kind."

The song category typically comes late in the show, after live performances of the nominees that have been spaced throughout the ceremony. Oscar producers tossed out those live performances this time in favor of montages featuring the songs and footage from the films they accompany.

"The Cove," an investigation into grisly dolphin-fishing operations in Japan, was picked as best documentary.

Oscar hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin opened the show with playful ribbing of nominees. They also made note of Oscar organizers' decision to double the best-picture category from five films to 10.

"When that was announced, all of us in Hollywood thought the same thing. What's five times two?" Martin said.

Leaders of the Academy widened the best-picture category from the usual five films to expand the range of contenders for a ceremony whose predictability had turned it into a humdrum affair for TV audiences.

Oscar ratings fell to an all-time low two years ago and rebounded just a bit last year, when the show's overseers freshened things up with lively production numbers and new ways of presenting some awards.

The overhaul continued this season with a show that farmed out time-consuming lifetime-achievement honors to a separate event last fall and hired Martin and Baldwin as the first dual Oscar hosts in 23 years.

14 Blades

Donnie Yen as Green Dragon

I went watching 14 Blades yesterday at TGV and found that the story is quite ok, although almost all the good guys die - even the main cast, Donnie Yen, who played Qing Long (Green Dragon). The movie sure attracts a lot of the girls, because of the appearance of Wu Zhun, who played Judge, but for those who watch because of Wu Zhun, please bear with the movie for almost first 30 minutes of the show before he first appear.

Wu Zhun

Wu Zhun as Judge

Below is the trailer of the movie.

The plot outline of 14 Blades movie....

During the Ming Dynasty, the Emperor of China possessed one weapon greater than all others, the Imperial Guards, an elite force of assassins recruited from street orphans. Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Imperial Guards were masters of the 14 Blades, eight being for torture, five for killing, and the last blade being reserved for suicide when a mission failed. Above the law, with a license to kill, the Imperial Guards devoted their lives and lethal prowess to the service of the Emperor alone.

When the Imperial Court is taken over by evil eunuch Jia, the best of the Imperial Guards, Green Dragon and Xuanwu, are assigned to steal a list identifying those still loyal to the Emperor. However unbeknownst to Green Dragon, the Imperial Guards have fallen under the control of Jia, and during the mission Green Dragon is betrayed by Xuanwu and barely escapes with his life. Now as the most wanted man in the land Green Dragon must seek out and rally the loyalists to rise against Jia and restore the Emperor to power. In his way are the deadliest assassins in the land, his former brethren, the Imperial Guards.

Donnie Yen will play Green Dragon, while Vicki Zhao someone the former runs into while he is on the run.
