It is not hard to have a file sharing server at home especially with the NAS storage technology. Using the nas storage, we can share files that we stored to the NAS storage to everyone in the house without breaking the bank having to setup a dedicated for file sharing.
Great news is that NAS storage has fallen for the past few years and it might be an alternative to setup a server without the need of real server which could cost a bomb and we might not need all the processing power that a real server has.
