Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb [Review]

You know a movie is bad when you can't wait for it to end....and that's how bad Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb is for me.

Night at the museum 3...same as before and it's boring

If you have watched the first two movies of Night at the Museum, expect yourselves to re-watch it again at The Secret of the Tomb, because it was the same....only worse off.

And while it's a farewell to Robin Williams, this movie is a real flop and disappointing.

There is a lot of effort to create the sort of farewell effect that caught us all in Toy Story 3, but here, the Night at the Museum just failed miserably....at 90 minutes, the movie is short yet I felt like I can't wait for the movie to end just as soon as it got started.

The opening of the movie bring us to Egypt....when the magical tablet was discovered for the first time, and a warning that "it will come to an end"...that the magical spell that will come to an end...which then bring us to the present, with Larry (Ben Stiller) as the security guard and the now directors of night time operations, in charge of some "special effects" for a fundraiser event, which turned wrong....because apparently, the tablet's magical spell is running out of juice....which then bring us to an adventure to London.

But the real problem here is this: different settings, same thing, all over again with more nuisance this time. Well, we got the magical tablet that still work to wake up everything in the museum at night and the characters running around in their new settings to find out the "secret" of the magical tablet...before sunrise. (another beat the clock model...sounds familiar? if you've watched the first 2 movies, you know what I mean)....we got Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt (what a farewell to the great comedian...this movie is definitely not one of his best)....Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan as the tiny guys....(honestly, I felt like Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan were in the movie for the sake of doing so...none of them really look interested in their characters....and their lines, besides the Pompei scene, I can't think of anything else).

Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan, looking dull in this movie

some Hun guy speaking in gibberish...big dinosaurs skeletons maybe? All of that are in it...with some addition that definitely bring some light to the movie but not enough: Sir Lancelot (Dan Stevens) was something new and bring some
freshness to the movie...

Dan Stevens as Sir Lancelot, something fresh in Night at the Museum but not enough

but Laa (also played by Stiller)...while occasionally it does create the sense of humor that made us laugh, it felt like a forced-comedy at times. And the scene between Laa and the British nightwatchwoman (Rebel Wilson)...gosh!! I'm not sure if it's meant for laughter or romance but none of it work for me....come on! Just cut that scene off! Gross!!

Definitely one of the movie that I will say a big disappointment....

Well, maybe the biggest problem for me is that the movie feels and looks exactly the same, and I honestly won't miss it....and won't mind not watching it as well....I felt the movie was made just because the first 2 episodes helped them to earn some big money.

Robin Williams, one last ride

Probably the only reason for you to watch it is because it's a tribute and farewell to Robin Williams...I love the scene between Teddy and Larry saying goodbye...because it does create that sort of closure to a great actor....but even that would not save Night at the Museum 3...perhaps sometimes, some movie should just stop at the second one.

[Lyrics] You're Beautiful by James Blunt

My life is brilliant.

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yes, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Flying high. [ - video/radio edited version]
Fucking high. [ - CD version]
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last 'til the end.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.

[Lyrics] We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus

This is one of those songs that got me excited and energetic...

Hope you love the music as much as I do...here is the lyrics:

It's our party we can do what we want (no drama)
It's our party we can say what we want (Mike will made)
It's our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can sing what we want

It's our party we can do what we want
It's our party we can say what we want
It's our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can sing what we want

Red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere
Hands in the air like we don't care
'Cause we came to have so much fun now
Bet somebody here might get some now

If you're not ready to go home
Can I get a "Hell, no! "? (Hell no)
'Cause we're gonna go all night
'Til we see the sunlight, alright

So la da di da di
We like to party
Dancing with Molly
Doing whatever we want
This is our house
This is our rules

And we can't stop
And we won't stop
Can't you see it's we who own the night?
Can't you see it's we who 'bout that life?

And we can't stop
And we won't stop
We run things, things don't run we
Don't take nothing from nobody
Yeah, yeah

It's our party we can do what we want
It's our party we can say what we want
It's our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can sing what we want

To my home girls here with the big butt
Shaking it like we at a strip club
Remember only God can judge ya
Forget the haters 'cause somebody loves ya
And everyone in line in the bathroom
Trying to get a line in the bathroom
We all so turnt up here
Getting turned up, yeah, yeah, yeahhh

So la da di da di
We like to party
Dancing with Molly
Doing whatever we want
This is our house
This is our rules

And we can't stop
And we won't stop
Can't you see it's we who own the night?
Can't you see it's we who 'bout that life?

And we can't stop
And we won't stop
We run things, things don't run we
Don't take nothing from nobody
Yeah, yeah

It's our party we can do what we want
It's our party we can say what we want
It's our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can sing what we want

It's our party we can do what we want to
It's our house we can love who we want to
It's our song we can sing if we want to
It's my mouth I can say what I want to
Say yeah, yeah, yeah, ehh

And we can't stop, yeah
And we won't stop, oh
Can't you see it's we who own the night?
Can't you see it's we who 'bout that life?

And we can't stop
And we won't stop
We run things, things don't run we
Don't take nothing from nobody

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, ehh

[Lyrics] Some Nights by FUN

Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck
Some nights I call it a draw
Some nights I wish that my lips could build a castle
Some nights I wish they'd just fall off

But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh, Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for oh
Whoa oh oh (What do I stand for?)
Whoa oh oh (What do I stand for?)
Most nights I don't know anymore...
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh,
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh

This is it, boys, this is war - what are we waiting for?
Why don't we break the rules already?
I was never one to believe the hype
Save that for the black and white
I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked,
But here they come again to jack my style

That's alright (that's alright)
I found a martyr in my bed tonight
She stops my bones from wondering just who I am, who I am, who I am
Oh, who am I? Mmm... Mmm...

Well, some nights I wish that this all would end
'Cause I could use some friends for a change.
And some nights I'm scared you'll forget me again
Some nights I always win, I always win...

But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh, Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for, oh
Whoa oh oh (What do I stand for?)
Whoa oh oh (What do I stand for?)
Most nights I don't know... (oh, come on)

So this is it. I sold my soul for this?
Washed my hands of that for this?
I miss my mom and dad for this?

(Come on)

No. When I see stars, when I see, when I see stars, that's all they are
When I hear songs, they sound like a swan, so come on.
Oh, come on. Oh, come on. Oh, come on!

Well, that is it guys, that is all - five minutes in and I'm bored again
Ten years of this, I'm not sure if anybody understands
This one is not for the folks at home;
Sorry to leave, mom, I had to go
Who the fuck wants to die alone all dried up in the desert sun?

My heart is breaking for my sister and the con that she called "love"
When I look into my nephew's eyes...
Man, you wouldn't believe the most amazing things that can come from...
Some terrible nights... ah...

Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh,
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh

The other night you wouldn't believe the dream I just had about you and me
I called you up but we'd both agree

It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... Oh...
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... Oh...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [Review]

I'm not sure about you guys but I find the movie funny and entertaining. It wasn't the best that I expect but it's good.

I'm sure there are a lot of critics out there but this is by far the best Ninja Turtle's movie.

Watch the Turtles in action

This new Michael Bay's produced movie is one of those movies that you can watch 10 years from now and still be entertained....flashy, funny, energetic and "explosions" though it's not as much as what expect from Bay...it's what is expected from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...silly, action, funny.

But before we got into the movie, here are one thing that you will find how the movie has deviate from the comic. If you're a comic fan, you probably would not like the changes to it...but if you're cool with it, most likely you will be okay with the movie.

MOVIE: According to the movie, the turtles and Splinter were "lab rats" in Sach's experiment with the ooze. The turtles were also April's pet. They were named them Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael, after the Renaissance artist and also painted with a dash of purple, blue, orange, or red on their shell to distinguish them from each other.

When April's father died, she rescued the four turtles and Splinter from the lab and placed them in the sewer. That's when Splinter, Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael started to mutate and grow in size. After their mutation, Splinter treated them like his own sons, just like how he saw Dr O Neil treated his daughter April.

Splinter taught them how to do martial arts when they became reckless, something that he learned himself from an old guide book. However, Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael were too curious about the outside world that they ended up going behind their master's back.

The four "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" ventured outside their hiding place from the sewer to secretly battle the members of the "Foot Clan." That's when they were discovered by April O'Neil.

For the benefits of the non comic fans, here's how it actually turn out in the comic book.

COMIC: The turtles mutation happened by accident. According to Comicvine Yoshi's pet rat discovered the ooze and the four little turtles while scavenging for food in the sewer.

The Utroms were transporting the mutagen on a truck when the vehicle got into an accident. The canister broke and its contents toppled a container containing four little turtles carried by a young boy. The turtles and the canister fell into the sewer.

The rat eventually rescued the ooze-drenched turtles, getting the mutagen onto himself as well. The next day he woke up to discover they all have grown in size. The turtles started to develop in intellect and learned how to speak. The rat is called "Splinter"

Well, if you don't mind the changes then the movie is one you should go for...because it's fun, action packed and easy to go with. The movie also focus on the human companionship of the turtle, April O'Neil, and who better do it than the sexy and adorable Megan Fox. Will Arnett also acted his role perfectly as the snarky-and-lovelorn co-worker of O'Neil. But then the star of the movies definitely are the turtles themselves.

Megan Fox in action

Megan Fox

Probably some find the new, more human featured like turtle to be unacceptable but the movie was realistic, putting in distinctive features for each of the turtles. The quartet was only differentiated by the different bandana color in the past but not any more...the new turtles have distinctive bodies and fashion choices that match their personality (Raphael the most muscular, Donatello the nerdiest) without being too exaggerated.

Compare the old and new Ninja Turtles

If you're looking for some complicated action movie, ninja turtles are not the one for you, whether the new or the old ones....Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always been a funny, easy to go with movie with a bit of action here and there...it's for a round of laughter a tiring day and this movie did just that.

I think one of the scene that best describe the movie is when the 4 turtles are in the elevator. Michelangelo started making a beat with his nunchucks. And you might be expect the three brothers to be annoyed, but slowly but surely everyone joins in — happily so.

That's basically the entire movie in a half shell. Don't think, just enjoy.

Emma Watson graduated

It's been a long time since Emma Watson burst onto the big screen as Hermione in Harry Potter.

And just as she had graduated from the Harry Potter series into a fine lady, she has also graduated from Brown University, with a degree in English literature.

Emma Watson's selfie posted on her twitter...
A girl, blessed with good genes and brains...it's good to that she is progressing well, both in the movie scenes as well as her fashion sense.

Emma Watson was accompanied by bodyguard in the ceremony as well

When I said she got a great fashion sense, I mean it...here are some photos of Emma Watson...hopefully, she will maintain her elegance and not fall like how other famous celebrities used to...

Check out how that cute little girl transform into a beautiful and elegant lady that we see today:
