Chinese Zodiac (2012) a.k.a Armour of God 3

The Armour of God 3 of more commonly known as Chinese Zodiac is expected to be the final movie where famous actor/stuntman Jackie Chan will perform all the stunt by himself - and so, going to the movie is sort of like a must for us. After all, I'm so used to his comical acting and stunts from all his Drunken Master series, Police Story series and even the Armour of God series.

Chinese Zodiac is about Asian Hawk, who was requested by an agent to search for the set of mystic artifacts - the 12 bronze heads of the animals from the Chinese zodiac, The movie started off in an auction for the missing artifacts and then it is known to us that selling artifacts seems to be a higly profitable business and the rich businessman intends to search for the remaining bronze heads as each head auctioned at a higher price than the previous one, and he give the extra bounty for Asian Hawk, if he is able to get the Dragon's head as well.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

If you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings, you will probably not want to miss this.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

I am not a big fan of the Lord of the Rings but I really have to say: this movie deserves a thumbs up. If you have yet to watch it, you're missing a big deal!

"The Hobbit" is the adventure of Bilbo Baggins, Frodo's uncle, and how he came into possession of Gollum's precious ring.

Anyone who had read the book will know that most part of it are very friendly, kid-like and one that is filled with humour and fun...it wasn't until Tolkien penned "The Lord of the Rings" that the saga actually ventured into the dark side...but the movie is keeping the standard with this one now that we all have known about the Lord of the Rings.

The beginning of the movie was interesting enough, bringing us to where we are familiar with: the settings in where The Lord of the Rings kick off...before bringing us back to the past...60 years earlier...

It started with how Bilbo Baggins reluctantly joined the thirteen dwarves who are on a journey to take back their home from an angry dragon. Along the way, they encounter trolls, orcs, elves, goblins, a comical wizard and, of course, Smeagle.

The night before the dwarves set for their journey, there was a conversation between Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins...

Gandalf: You'll have a tale or two to tell when you come back.
Bilbo Baggins: You can promise that I will come back?
Gandalf: No. And if you do, you will not be the same.

I believe that there was such urge within Baggins to join in the journey but there was so much uncertainty...so much that he wasn't sure if it was right to join...whether it was worth the risk...
I have to say this: there was such sincere friendship between Gandalf and Baggins...such an amazing act by both Ian McKellen and Martin Freeman...

The introduction of Gollum was also a good one...a lot of laughter that can be gained from the two...it was also in this scene that we were introduced to a simple ring: A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

Gollum's appearance in the movie was done in a fantastic manner...creepy, funny and mysterious...all at the same time

Of course, there are a lot of other interesting parts in the movie: the trolls, the orcs, the way the dragon was being introduced at the start and all....it just shows the brilliance of the entire movie..

One could probably make a similar argument for the movie's epic length. With a two-hour and fifty minute running time, "The Hobbit" will take you there and back again. Yet, it's only the first third of the story. Mr. Jackson has gone to great efforts to somehow work in many of his established characters, despite the fact that they weren't in the original text. And, because of such self-indugent exposition, the movie takes longer to watch than the book takes to read! but still, it was a good effort...

I'm not gonna post more here...otherwise, you'll not feel all of the amazing parts in the movie...I really do think this is a good movie, one that I won't mind watching twice or three times...

Wanting - Drenched [Lyrics]

A good friend of mine recommended this song to me...and I find it pretty amazing as well....

When minutes become hours
When days become years
And I dont know where you are
Color seems so dull without you

Have we lost our minds?
What have we done?
But it all doesnt seem to matter anymore

When you kissed me on that street, I kissed you back
You held me in your arms, I held you in mine
You picked me up to lay me down
When I look into your eyes
I can hear you cry for a little bit more of you and I
Im drenched in your love
Im no longer able to hold it back

Is it too late to ask for love?
Is it wrong to feel right?
When the world is winding down
Thoughts of you linger around

Have we lost our minds?
What have we done?
But it all doesnt seem to matter anymore

When you kissed me on that street, I kissed you back
You held me in your arms, I held you in mine
You picked me up to lay me down
When I look into your eyes
I can hear you cry for a little bit more of you and I
Im drenched in your love
Im no longer able to hold it back

[Lyrics] One Child by Mariah Carey

Another Christmas songs that is very meaningful and also about Jesus Christ. This song is sang by Mariah Carey titled One Child. The followings is the lyrics of this nice and meaningful Christmas song. Enjoy.

One Child Lyrics
Artist: Mariah Carey

An angel appeared of the highest one
And Mary believed the word she received
Of God's only son, The Virgin rejoiced

Gave thanks to the Lord and as Joseph dreamt
The angel was sent with tidings of piece and joy
Of the blessed baby boy

They travelled for miles to reach Bethlehem
Yet when they arrived, no one could provide
Place at the inn for them but God kept them safe

From hurt, harm and danger in His warm embrace
Away in a manger waiting for Jesus' birth
To glorify the earth then He came

One child can change the world
Christmas morn'
The King of all kings was born
He reigns forevermore
Let us worship and adore
Christ the Lord

[Lyrics] Do You Hear What I Hear by the Glee Cast

As the Christmas season coming, I started to listen to all the Christmas songs that I have, one of which really meaningful - not related Santa Claus, but Jesus Christ. A lot of Christmas songs are about gifts and Santa Claus, but never in our mind that God gave us the most precious gift of all - Jesus Christ. The song title "Do You Hear What I Hear" is an old Christmas song written in 1962, and there are many artists who sang it before, but I still like the Glee version best.

The lyrics is as follow:-

Do You Hear What I Hear
Glee Cast

Said the night wind to the little lamb
Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky little lamb
Do you see what I see?
A star, a star
Dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite

Said the little lamb to the shepard boy
Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky shepard boy
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song
High above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea

[Lyrics] Here I am by 4Men feat Mi (美)

For those who watched Secret Garden, there is one song among the the Original Soundtracks (OST) list, which I kinda like. This song is sang by 4Men - a Korean boy band and Mi, another artist from Korea titled "Here I Am".

I will have two versions of the lyrics, one being the romanization lyrics and another in the original language for those who can read hangul, as well as the translation of the songs.

Skyfall

If you have yet to watch the latest James Bond, Skyfall, you're about to miss something amazing...

Daniel Craig is James Bond

There have been a lot of people who are probably not satisfied with Daniel Craig as James Bond, probably due to the much different Bond in comparison to the previous others...but I must said Craig is one of the most realistic Bond, showing both the super spy character as well as the human part in it....it gives soul to James Bond.

Ian Fleming’s secret agent is something of a chameleon, either blending in with or cashing in on the movie craze du jour. Think of Moonraker, rushed into production after Star Wars took popular cinema into orbit, or Live and Let Die, exploiting blaxploitation, or the twitchy, unsmiling Quantum of Solace, Bond’s latter-day Bournefication.
In Skyfall, we join Bond in Istanbul, chasing a stolen computer disk that contains the secret identities of embedded NATO agents. After a hair-raising chase across marketplaces, rooftops and a thundering train, the disk is lost, and for a moment so is 007. The beginning is already the climax...or should I said the story was started with such an amazing scene that keeps you wanting to know and be part of the entire movie.
But after a gothic title sequence he rematerialises in London, older, unshaven and off his game. Nevertheless, M (Judi Dench) puts him back on the case, which takes him to some of the world’s most exotic corners: Shanghai, Macau, Glencoe...

Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan’s script constantly reminds us Bond’s physical prowess is on the wane, but his verbal sparring, both with M and new foe Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem), a former agent turned vengeful computer hacker, is nimbler than ever. Silva is almost as inscrutable as The Dark Knight’s Joker himself: Bardem’s lip-lickingly camp turn makes him the oddest Bond villain since the Roger Moore era, and his nicotine hair flops queasily over his forehead in a way that calls to mind Julian Assange.
By acknowledging the rise of cyberterrorism, Skyfall is a Bond film for the Anonymous generation.

Mendes, whose American Beauty and Revolutionary Road were light on explosions, lets the quieter moments breathe, and a conversation between Bond and Silva that’s simply buttered with innuendo drew cheers at an early preview screening.
But Mendes is rather good at being loud, too, and his nine times Oscar-nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins makes the wildly ambitious action sequences the most beautiful in Bond’s 50-year career.
(The release of Skyfall marks the series’ half-centenary.) The sensational Istanbul prologue is soon bettered by the Shanghai segment, where Bond pursues an assassin through a soaring glass skyscraper lit up like a neon Aurora Borealis.
It’s pearls like these, not to mention the deliriously arch fight scene involving two komodo dragons, that give Mendes’s film enough momentum to power through its scrappy third act, when Silva’s diabolical plans start to feel a tad scattershot, even for a Bond villain.
“We don’t go in for exploding pens any more,” quips a fashionably tousled Q (Ben Whishaw). Nor do audiences, and I suspect Skyfall will be a stratospheric hit.

There are a few other things that one will definitely notice...the fact that Bond starts to drink Heineken....the movie still focus on the beauty of the Bond girls and the essential vodka martini. Of course, the main point is that Skyfall is "more human, capable of being moved and of crying: in a word, more real".

If you have not watch it, you've missed something amazing...Skyfall is a must watch!!

[Lyrics] Turn Around by Bruno Mars

The song Turn Around by Bruno Mars is indeed nice. I know it's not a very new song, but I just got this song from a friend of mine, and once I listen to it, I like it very much.

So, the following is the lyrics of Turn Around by Bruno Mars.

I, I, I don't know why, why
It seems like every other night you pick a fight, fight.
And I know I do the same, be callin' you out your name,
This is not what lovers are suppose to do.

You tell me to go, I start walkin out,
We both know what we're all about.
We fuss, fight, and scream,
And it's all because of love,
but you know we ain't ever giving up.

Everytime I try to leave
Somethin's tells me turn around
'Cause how could I ever leave
The only one that holds me down
'Cause I know we can work it out
Talk it out, stick it out oohh
Everytime I try to leave
Find that we can figure it out
That's why I always turn around

Baby, before you say, say,
Something you know you'll take back later on today, day.
Sometimes you drive me crazy, but I love ya, baby
All I ask is that you'll always appreciate me, ooohh.

You tell me to go, I start walkin out,
We both know what we're all about.

We fuss, fight, and scream,
And it's all because of love,
but you know we ain't ever giving up.

Everytime I try to leave
Somethin's tells me turn around
'Cause how could I ever leave
The only one that holds me down
'Cause I know we can work it out
Talk it out, stick it out oohh
Everytime I try to leave
Find that we can figure it out
That's why I always turn around

Ain't nobody that can love me, like you love me.
That's why I always turn around for you, you you, youuu. You, you you, youuu.
Ain't nobody that can love me, like you love me.
Thats why I always turn around. For you, you you, youuuu. You, you yooou.

Everytime I try to leave
Somethin's tells me turn around
'Cause how could I ever leave
The only one that holds me down
'Cause I know we can work it out
Talk it out, stick it out oohh
Everytime I try to leave
Find that we can figure it out
That's why I always turn around

Universal Soldier 4: Day of Reckoning

If you are a fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme or Dolph Lundgren, you must have thought that the Universal Soldier 4: Day of Reckoning is a must watch movie, but the truth is, unless you really have got nothing to do and you would not mind watching a movie just to see people get beaten out of the crap, I will not recommend this movie. It's just a marketing gimmick putting Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren as the main casts but these two muscle men will have very few screen time.

The fact that this movie is so terrible that even after watching for like the first one hour, I cannot really get the storyline - either I'm too dumb to understand the story, or the movie really don't have a plot. And the most annoying part is whenever one is injected with some kind of drugs, the screen will be like so bright and blinding with annoying sound - though it sort of like gives us the feel of it.

One thing I cannot understand is how come Luc Deveraux suddenly become bad guy - or maybe I missed out the part 3 of the series. And the Universal Soldier program has suddenly become so insane and become some science exploration by the US government, which doesn't make sense at all. I still remember clearly that in part 1, the project has already proven to be successful one, though Luc Deveraux and Andrew Scott have their own free will, but that is because both of them are more motivated than the rest.

Another thing that I cannot understand about the movie is how come the Universal Soldier has suddenly become a cult group, yes, they still cannot die, they are still way stronger than normal human being and they are still like the living dead and move without thinking, of course, except for Luc and John who like have own mind.

You might see a lot of 1st person shooting game scene like when the movie started, and then when John was attacking a group of Unisols in their based. It's like starting with Level 1, following with next level and so on until fight the deputy and finally fighting the boss.

Anyway, the plot is as follows. It started with something like 1st person shooting game where John (Scott Adkins) was brutally assault by few Unisols and his wife and daughter were then murdered in front of him. John then awakens from a coma to discover his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible: Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme). While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol named Magnus (Andrei Arlovski). Meanwhile, Deveraux and surviving UniSol Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren) are preparing to battle anarchy and build a new order ruled by Unisols without government oversight. They are weeding out the weak and constantly testing their strongest warriors in brutal, life-and-death combat. Luc has emerged operating the Unisol Church of Eventualism, taking in wayward Unisols whom the government has been secretly operating as remote-controlled sleeper agents. His mission is to liberate these Unisols from the implanted memories and the lies the government has inserted in them. As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rogue army of genetically enhanced warriors, he discovers more about himself and begins to call into question everything he believed to be true.

[Lyrics] Home by Glee Cast

I was listening to some songs that are in my hard disk and I found that this song, "Home" which is featured in the Glee series by Kristin Chenowith is actually quite nice, and more importantly meaningful as well.

Well, the lyrics is as follow:-

When I think of home
I think of a place
where there's love overflowing
I wish I was home
I wish I was back there
with the things I've been knowing

Wind that makes the tall grass bend into leaning
Suddenly the raindrops that fall have a meaning
Sprinkling the scene
Makes it all clean

Maybe there's a chance for me to go back
Now that I have some direction
It sure would be nice to be back home
where there's love and affection

Then just maybe I can convince time to slow up
Givin' me enough time in my life to grow up
Time be my friend
Let me start again

Suddenly my world has gone and change it's face
But I still know where I'm going
I have had my mind spun around in space
Yet I've watched it glowing

Oh If your listening God, please don't make it hard
To know if we should believe in the things that we seee
Tell us should we try and stay or should we run away
Or would be better just to let things be..

Living here in this brand new world
Might be a fantasy OOHhh
But you taught me to love
So it's real, real, real to me

And I've learned we must look, look
inside our hearts to find
A world full of love
Like yours, like mine

Recent weeks, I have been watching TVB's Witness Insecurity and one of the thing with this series that attracts me is the theme song of the series. Titled as The Most Blissful Thing or The Happiest thing or 最幸福的事 in chinese, the song is sang by the main actress of the series, Linda Chung.

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D

If you think that Michael Jackson is a legend, then let us look at the new star: Katy Perry...she might fall short of ruling Hot 100 and surpassing Michael Jackson's "Bad" record, but she has nailed a new feat elsewhere on Billboard chart. With her latest single "The One That Got Away" which spanned two official remixes, the West Coast singer scores her sixth No. 1 on Pop Songs chart from one album alone, "Teenage Dream". By doing so, Perry breaks the record held by Justin Timberlake and Lady GaGa. The former NSYNC member and the Mother Monster placed four No. 1 singles each on the Pop Songs chart. Both Timberlake and GaGa owed it to their first albums "FutureSex/LoveSounds" and "The Fame" respectively.

Well, Katy Perry was amazing, yielded eight No. 1s on the Pop Songs throughout her career. In addition to the six single from 2010's "Teenage Dream", the estranged wife of Russell Brand has previously reigned the chart with "Hot N Cold" (2008) and "Waking Up in Vegas" (2009), which were taken from her debut album "One of the Boys". With a total of eight Pop Songs toppers, Katy becomes an artist with the second-most No. 1 singles in the list's 19-year history. She's placed behind Rihanna who's leading with nine No. 1 singles.

Anyway, if you think Justin Bieber: Never Say Never was something, how about going for Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D....Be yourself and you can be anything...

The Summary:

This film tells the story of the trajectory of Perry’s career as gospel singer Katheryn Hudson until the present day as pop singer and global superstar Katy Perry, bearing testimony from Katy (real name Katheryn) about her childhood, talking about the Teenage Dream era, with scenes from backstage of her last world tour while trying to take time to resolve personal problems, including her divorce from British comedian Russell Brand. The interim scenes document her last world tour, the California Dreams Tour, and were recorded on November 23, 2011 at Staples Center, Los Angeles.

Well, I'm no fan of Katy Perry but for someone with such an amazing achievement, she must be something and I'm sure this movie will be an inspiration plus some of the beautiful music that will surely pump your heart....

[Lyrics] Earth Song

Waking up today to one of the best artist of all time, Michael Jackson's music....and I find this one particular inspiring....

What about sunrise
 What about rain
 What about all the things
That you said we were to gain.. .
 What about killing fields
 Is there a time
 What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?

 Aaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaah

What have we done to the world
 Look what we've done
 What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son...
 What about flowering fields
 Is there a time
 What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores

 Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaah

 I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far

 Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaaah
 Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaaah

 Hey, what about yesterday
 (What about us)
 What about the seas
 (What about us)
 The heavens are falling down
 (What about us)
 I can't even breathe
 (What about us)
 What about the bleeding Earth
 (What about us)
 Can't we feel its wounds
 (What about us)

 What about nature's worth
 (ooo,ooo)
 It's our planet's womb
 (What about us)
 What about animals
 (What about it)
 We've turned kingdoms to dust
 (What about us)
 What about elephants
 (What about us)
 Have we lost their trust
 (What about us)
 What about crying whales
 (What about us)
 We're ravaging the seas
 (What about us)
 What about forest trails
 (ooo, ooo)
 Burnt despite our pleas
 (What about us)
 What about the holy land
 (What about it)
 Torn apart by creed
 (What about us)
 What about the common man
 (What about us)

 Can't we set him free
 (What about us)
 What about children dying
 (What about us)
 Can't you hear them cry

 (What about us)
 Where did we go wrong
 (ooo, ooo)
 Someone tell me why
 (What about us)
 What about babies
 (What about it)
 What about the days
 (What about us)
 What about all their joy
 (What about us)
 What about the man
 (What about us)
 What about the crying man
 (What about us)
 What about Abraham
 (What was us)
 What about death again
 (ooo, ooo)
 Do we give a damn?!!

The Dark Knight Rises

If there is a movie not to be missed in this year, it has got to be The Dark Knight Rises. I watched it last Saturday night and I will be giving it at least 9 out of 10. It looks to me that Christopher Nolan did it again, outstanding.

In this final installment of the Dark Knight Trilogy by Christopher Nolan, Batman must face a foe like he has never faced before, Bane. This final installment of the Dark Knight continues from where The Dark Knight ends where Batman takes the blame for the murder of Harvey Dent and was hunted by the whole police department of the Gotham City. Nevertheless, the incident has brought peace to the Gotham City - for eight years there has been no organized crime.

The movie started with some CIA agents escorting a Russian scientist and three hooded prisoners on a military aircraft. As the agent in charge learned that the prisoners worked for Bane, he started to interrogate them, little did he know one of the prisoners is Bane. Soon, the aircraft is overpowered with a larger aircraft and Bane with his people overpowered the agents and killed all of the agents and kidnapped the Russian scientist.

Next, we have the people of Gotham celebrating the Harvey Dent's death anniversary hosted in the Wayne's Manor, but Bruce Wayne was no longer like the younger Wayne who previously enjoyed parties and gatherings. There, Miranda Tate, a wealthy investor, tries to meet the reclusive Bruce to get him to invest in her clean energy project, but is still unable to meet him.

During the event, one of the maids is Selina Kyle, a burglar who breaks into Bruce's safe and stole his mother's pearl. Bruce, crippled in one leg, accosts her, but she attacks him and escapes. Bruce later realizes that she also took a copy of his fingerprints from the surface of the safe.

Meanwhile, a dead teenager's body washes out from the sewers, and his body is identified by police officer John Blake, as that of a kid staying at an orphanage where he coaches the kids in baseball. Blake is shown to have a very close relationship with the orphanage and the warden who runs it, and we realize later that he himself grew up in that orphanage, and it was being funded by the Wayne Foundation. One of the kids at the orphanage informs him that they have heard rumours of the sewers providing good employment recently, which makes Blake suspicious.

Selena then sells Bruce's fingerprints to Dagget, an industrialist with a shady background, who tries to kill her but Selena smartly creates a diversion using a missing Congressman who's actually been with her, causing the police to converge on the spot.

During the shootout and chase, Gordon followed one of the mercenaries until the sewers. The sewers are in fact the hideout of Bane, who is in the employ of Dagget, and has built himself an army of faithful mercenaries. During a raid on the sewers, a couple of mercenaries overpower Commissioner Gordon and bring him to Bane, but Gordon manages to escape, and was seriously injured, but not before Bane pulled out from his jacket the speech in which Gordon intended to reveal the truth about Harvey Dent and his murders.

Bruce meets him in the hospital, and sensing impending trouble, decides to don his cape again and return to crime-fighting, despite being in a hopeless physical condition. While going through the records Bruce learns that the mercenary Bane was once the member of the League of Shadows but was later excommunicated from the group. Owing to his decision of returning to Gotham as Batman he has a spat with Alfred who is afraid of the Batman losing and die, and Alfred decided to leave Bruce and the mansion, for he cannot bear to see another member of the Wayne dies and after revealing the contents of Rachel's letter to Bruce in the hope that he will change his mind and move on with his life.

Then, Bane and his men attack the Gotham stock exchange, taking everybody inside hostage, and manipulating the Wayne Enterprises stock using Bruce's fingerprints causing the Bruce Wayne to go bust financially. The hostage situation ends with the mercenaries getting away, but Batman enters the scene suddenly, causing the Gotham Police force to concentrate all their resources into arresting him. Deputy Commissioner Foley is eager to arrest the alleged murderer of Harvey Dent, and after a prolonged chase, Batman is cornered into a dark alley. But Batman escapes from the alley in The Bat, a futuristic Batcopter built by Lucius Fox.

To avoid the company shutting down, Bruce and Fox take Miranda to the fusion reactor designed by Dr Pavel, to convince her to invest in the project - and to safe keep the project. This reactor was originally intended as a weapon, but Fox and Miranda intend to use it for generating clean free energy for the entire city. The reactor is hidden in a chamber underneath the river, so that it could be flooded in case it was abused. Miranda agree to take over the company and furious with the fact that he can no longer control the Wayne Enterprise, Dagget corners Bane apportioning blame for his failure. Bane kills Dagget proclaiming himself in charge of the city after revealing that it was his architecture machinery that he required to build the sophisticated underground sewers and to accomplish his future plans that he complied with Dagget's orders.

Meanwhile, Bruce beg Selina to bring Batman to Bane in exchange for a device that can wiped off the Selina's history. Selina finally agree and to avoid being killed by the mercenaries, she deceive and trapped Batman with Bane. This leads to a lengthy hand-to-hand combat between the two, and eventually Bane overpowers the Batman, and breaks his backbone. Bruce Wayne is then dumped into a prison, paralysed from the back downwards, and Bane tells him that he intends to kill his soul first, and his body only later.

This prison was where Bane was rumoured to be born, and it is notorious as the "Hell on Earth", from where nobody has managed to escape, except Bane as a kid. Men routinely try to escape using a rope and climbing to the top, but everybody fails to clear the final jump on to a ledge required to escape. The other prisoners tell him the story of a mercenary who fell in love with the daughter of a warlord who owned that prison. The warlord intended to kill the mercenary, but his daughter made a deal with her father to free him and instead ended up a prisoner there herself. One day a riot broke out in the prison where she was raped and murdered, and her child escaped, who grew up to be Bane. Bruce Wayne feels that the rumoured mercenary is Ras Al' Ghul.

Meanwhile, in Gotham City, the entire police force consisting of a thousand policemen storm the sewers to capture Bane. Bane, however, has rigged the entire sewer system with explosives, which he detonates at the beginning of a football match, causing the entire ground to cave in and collapse, and his people take the entire audience hostage. The explosives cause the sewers to cave in, leaving the entire police force of the city trapped inside. Bane then declares to the stadium crowd that he's now in charge of the city, and having taken control of the nuclear reactor, which he has turned into a bomb, murders Dr Pavel in front of the shocked audience, after telling them that Dr Pavel was the only man who could disarm the nuclear device.Bane also declares that he has left one citizen in charge of the detonator who would trigger the bomb in case of any sort of civil rebellion.

Simultaneously, all the bridges leading up to the city are destroyed by Bane's explosives, causing the entire population of the city trapped inside. Bane threatens the government forces that should anybody try to enter or leave the city, he will detonate the nuclear weapon, thus forcing the government forces to guard the city and stop anybody from leaving.

Bane then proceeds to the prison where more than a 1000 prisoners have been incarcerated as per the Dent Act, which gave enormous powers to the police. Here he reads out Gordon's intended speech revealing the truth about Harvey, and declares the prisoners free, as the man who drew up the Dent Act himself was a murderer and a madman. The prisoners join Bane and together they enforce what Bane calls "martial law", forcing the rich out of their homes, holding kangaroo courts and killing anybody who could cause any resistance by forcing them to walk on the frozen river under the detonated bridges, until the ice breaks and they sink.

Detective Blake, meanwhile, with the help of the few policemen still remaining in the city, begin tracking three trucks, one of which carries the nuclear weapon. To avoid detection of the weapon, the three trucks are driven around the city continuously.

Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne, upset with everything that has happened in the Gotham City. The doctor told him that in order for Bruce Wayne to walk again, he will need to fix his vertebrae. So, after he is healed, he work out in order to gain his fitness and escape the prison by climbing with his bare hands and feet without the help of a rope, just like the "legend" of the prison did.

Bruce returns to Gotham as Batman, and with the help of Selina, frees Miranda and Fox from Bane's captivity, and saves Gordon and some of the policemen, who had been captured and were about to be killed on the frozen river. Fox reveals that trigger or no trigger, the nuclear device will detonate anyway within a few hours, and builds a signal jammer which can block the signals from the trigger.

With Blake's help, Batman frees the policemen trapped in the sewers, who then march the streets and attack Bane's army. A brutal combat ensues on the streets of Gotham. Meanwhile Batman fights Bane again, and has nearly defeated him, when Miranda stabs the Batman from behind. It is then revealed that her real name is Talia and that she was the child who had escaped from the Hell on Earth prison, and Bane had almost died protecting her from the other inmates because he loved her, and had been forced to wear his mask due to the violence his face had been subjected to in the prison riot. Bane was rescued by the League of Shadows and along with Talia was trained by Ras Al Ghul. Although soon Ras Al Ghul realized that Bane was a monster and hence he was excommunicated from the group. Talia's intention is to take revenge on the Batman for killing her father Ras Al Ghul as well as finishing the mission of destroying Gotham for its greed that cost her father's life. She then hits the trigger of the nuclear weapon, but Gordon has managed to fit the signal jammer on the weapon just in time. However, there are only eleven minutes left for the nuke to detonate. Miranda walked off the scene to take control of the truck having the nuke. Meanwhile, Bane is about to kill Batman and then suddenly Selina breaks in and shoots Bane in the face and finishes him off.

Miranda was escorts with few tanks and with Selina riding the Batpod and Batman flying the Batcopter in the air, both of them successfully destroy the three tanks and they manage to recapture the truck and the nuke. However, the weapon cannot be deactivated as Miranda has already pulled off the emergencies button causing flood to the fusion plant control center, and hence Batman attaches it to the Bat and flies it over the bay, and the city, now liberated from Bane's army, watches awestruck as the weapon detonates on the horizon, and the mushroom-cloud balloons over the bay.

The city then is shown paying respects to the Batman, who apparently gave his life to save the city. A small funeral is also held at Wayne Manor for Bruce Wayne, by those who knew his true identity. Alfred is very upset and sobbing because he feels he let Bruce down.

In the epilogue, Lucious Fox is shown completing work on the Bat, realizing that Batman may have escaped the detonation after all due to the fact the autopilot was fixed by Bruce many months before. Alfred is also shown holidaying in Florence, Italy, where he sees Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle having coffee together at a nearby table. It is also revealed that John Blake is Robin, and the movie ends with him walking into Batman's secret hideout in the cave behind the waterfall. We are reminded of an earlier dialogue where Batman tells Blake that the Batman is just a symbol, and anybody can take on that role, causing us to wonder if it is implied that Blake/Robin takes over from the Batman as Batman or as his sidekick - Robin.

Counting Down To The Premier Of The Dark Knight Rises - 3 Days

Believe it or not, this is the movie that I feel a "MUST WATCH" movie for the year 2012. The Dark Knight Rises will end the Batman trilogy started by Christopher Nolan back in 2005. I will blog about the movie once I watch it in the cinema - hopefully within the first 2-3 days of showing.

The Amazing Spider Man (2012)

If you have yet to watch The Amazing Spider Man (2012), you are missing on something...but yet at the same time, once you have watched the movie, you just probably have the feeling that it is all too familiar.

The reset button has been pressed after the SpiderMan 3....after all, Tobey Maguire was beginning to look increasingly jaded and malign looking. And yet, many people will find that the restart of the Spiderman might not actually be necessary. The plot seems familiar...the storyline looks pretty much the same and it has a feeling of familiarity for those who have watched the earlier Spiderman movies...it felt like dejavu all over again.

However, the casting was damn right...Andrew Garfield as the Spider Man just makes the new geek a different name. Instead of the emphasis on secret identities, the focus of the movie was on his emotional side. and Garfield portrayed it amazingly well with a good charisma with his lover in the movie as well, Gwen Stacy. (Emma Stone). One will also notice that there is no longer the emphasis on Peter Parker selling photos to gain extra pocket money. Well, it probably make sense given that the new era might mean the unnecessary need for Peter to do so.

Peter Parker's arachnid destiny is made manifest from the start of the movie, and for me the narrative has more power. Instead of the arbitrary happenstance of getting bitten by a radioactive or genetically modified spider, Parker is the orphan of troubled scientist Richard Parker (Campbell Scott) who was working on inter-species DNA splicing, before being killed with Peter's mother in a mysterious car wreck. His work is now being carried on by the faintly sinister Dr Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), a man with just one arm, who longs for a lizard's ability to regrow limbs. Poor Peter is now hopelessly in love with classmate Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and is being looked after by his tolerant Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). He blags his way into Dr Connors's lab and sneaks into a top-secret room where spiders are being experimented upon. The rest is superhero history.

And honestly, all of these actors have done an amazing job in their role. Emma Stone was so good in her role that you just can't help but to love it when the two love birds are together (remember....this was never a love story and yet the part of them being in love is just so right.) One must have remember the disastrous lead actress in the previous Spidey movies...

Then Uncle Ben...he played it like you are really seeing Uncle Ben coming into live...besides the fact that the famous quote on the "with great power comes great responsibility", everything about Uncle Ben in the movie was just right.

The transformation scenes are tremendous. Having been bitten, Garfield's Parker goes into a delirious, feverish state, pop-eyed with anxiety and over-excitement as his body assumes new strength and the ability to hang upside down. The humour along with the curiosity to discover new power really helps to drag the audience into the movie.
Without knowing what he is doing, Parker semi-accidentally beats up around half a dozen menacing guys in a subway carriage while stammering and apologizing like a New York Hugh Grant.
At home, he virtually destroys his bathroom before learning his own strength.

The only thing that is disappointing is that if you have watched SpiderMan before, you will somehow find it to be the same thing being played on a different environment with different people. (familiarity makes the movie a disappointment)

The terrible fate of Uncle Ben was being played nicely and a big thumbs up to Garfield on his act here as well as when Peter trying to confront his own guilt.

Rhys Ifans is a terrific Spidey villain, the best since Alfred Molina's operatically mad Doctor Octopus: he is a researcher who once had a lot of good in him. Connors started out with a genuine need to cure human frailty and his genetic research involves computer-modelling, incidentally, not live animal experimentation.
But his terrible flaw is that stump where his arm was: it isn't long before Dr Connors's work on lizards gets dodgy, and his face turns into a handbag.

The transformation unlocks a certain drama-queen quality and during one confrontation with Spider-Man he quotes Michelangelo's sonnet The Silkworm: he dreams "That, changing like the snake, I might be free/ To cast off flesh wherein I dwell confined!" What an effort by the director to bring fresh reality into the movie and yet I couldn't help but to feel it's the same old Spidey...

And so we are back in the swing, although as ever, there is the vexed question of what exactly is horizontally overhead that Spidey is swinging from.
A jutting flagpole perhaps? Because using webs attached to the corners or sides of buildings can surely result only in hitting the ground or the wall before the downswing is complete. I couldn't help but to laugh at the thought of it. Then, there were the webs that he purchased....wouldn't the police notice of all those webs and tracked down to Peter Parker (Garfield)??

Well, never mind. The sheer exhilarating spectacle of Spider-Man launched again through the city, utterly free, is still great....the only down side is the familiarity of the movie...perhaps there was never the need to press the reset button for our action hero here...
Nevertheless, the movie has been an entertaining one...if you are a Spidey fans, you will watch it and feel disappointed because of the familiarity of the movie...if this is the first time you are watching a Spiderman movie, this will be a good memory.

[Lyrics] Justin Bieber ft Big Sean As Long As You Love Me

Justin Bieber feat Big Sean As Long As You Love Me Lyrics

As long as you love me [x3]

We're under pressure,
Seven billion people in the world trying to fit in
Keep it together,
Smile on your face even though your heart is frowning
But hey now, you know, girl,
We both know it's a cruel world
But I will take my chances

As long as you love me
We could be starving, we could be homeless, we could be broke
As long as you love me
I'll be your platinum, I'll be your silver, I'll be your gold
As long as you love, love, love, love me
As long as you love, love, love, love me

I'll be your soldier,
Fighting every second of the day for your dreams, girl
I'll be your Hova
You can be my Destiny's Child on the scene girl
So don't stress, don't cry, we don't need no wings to fly
Just take my hand

As long as you love me
We could be starving, we could be homeless, we could be broke
As long as you love me
I'll be your platinum, I'll be your silver, I'll be your gold
As long as you love, love, love, love me
As long as you love, love, love, love me

[Big Sean]
Yo, B-I-G
I don't know if this makes sense, but you're my hallelujah
Give me a time and place, and I'll rendezvous, and I'll fly you to it,
I'll beat you there
Girl you know I got you
Us, trust...
A couple of things I can't spell without 'U'
Now we are on top of the world, 'cause that's just how we do
Used to tell me, "Sky's the limit", now the sky's our point of view (view)
Man now we stepping out like, "Whoa" (Oh God)
Cameras point and shoot (shoot)
Ask me what's my best side, I stand back and point at you
You, you the one that I argue with, I feel like I need a new girl to be bothered with,
But the grass ain't always greener on the other side,
It's green where you water it
So I know we got issues baby true true true
But I'd rather work on this with you
Than to go ahead and start with someone new
As long as you love me

As long as you love me (Love me yeah yeah yeah)
We could be starving, we could be homeless, we could be broke
As long as you love me
I'll be your platinum, I'll be your silver, I'll be your gold
As long as you love, love, love, love me
As long as you love, love, love, love me
As long as you love, love, love, love me (I'll be your silver, I'll be your gold)
As long as you love, love, love, love me
As long as you love, love, love, love me
As long as you love me

[Lyrics] Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe

I was surfing 9gag.com over the weekends and I realized recently there are many jokes that is related to a song by Carly Rae Jepsen. The song title is Call Me Maybe, and there are variation of jokes on this song.

I threw a wish in the well,
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell,
And now you're in my way

I'd trade my soul for a wish,
Pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this,
But now you're in my way

Your stare was holdin',
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where you think you're going, baby?

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

You took your time with the call,
I took no time with the fall
You gave me nothing at all,
But still, you're in my way

I beg, and borrow and steal
Have foresight and it's real
I didn't know I would feel it,
But it's in my way

Your stare was holdin',
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where you think you're going, baby?

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad
I missed you so, so bad

Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
And you should know that
I missed you so, so bad

It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad
I missed you so, so bad

Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
And you should know that

So call me, maybe?

Men In Black 3

Went to Gurney last two weeks and watched Men In Black 3 with a friend of mine. At first he was thinking maybe Avengers, but since I have already watched Avengers earlier, and Men In Black 3 is the next watch-able movie at the moment, we decided to give it a try. Overall, I will say Men In Black 3 still have what it takes to make me glue on the screen.

The movie begins with an alien prisoner escape from a high security space prison, and after escaping from the prison, the alien prisoner, Boris the Animal vowed to go back to the past to have revenge. Such an explosive opening to the movie which is filled with action and comedy scenes.

Back on Earth, the MIB team is cleaning up somewhere in Manhattan, while J is trying to engage in a conversation with K, but K has become more taciturn than usual. J understands that this is likely because of Z, who had recently passed away and K had been invited to write a eulogy. At the office K does a brief eulogy, delivered so flatly and shortly that J complains about the lack of emotions and all but begs him to say something good if J ever dies first. Agent O, the new head of the MIB, announces the break out on Lunarmax and gives them their next assignment. K refuses the say what happened in 1969 and so J tries to look up the archives. He learns that Boris had killed several aliens on Earth, and was arrested by K, but not much else as access is restricted. O tells J not to look and sends him and K out for their assignment.

J and K went to a Chinese restaurant to follow a lead, which ends up in a blaster fight that splits the two of them. K ended up chasing an alien until the roof where he meets Boris the Animal. Boris almost kill K, but failed to do so as J rejoin K in the final minute. Despite both agents' efforts Boris manages to escape, but not before telling K that he is "already dead".

That night, J received a call from K, but is further annoyed by K who kept silent during the phone call and then finally hang up the phone. K hears the dial tone, and pick up a gun, but faded away and his apartment is replaced with another one. Next morning, J goes to K's apartment, but he was stunned that K is not there, and rushes to the headquarters but K was no where to be found, in fact, K was already dead since 1969. Sensing J's strong craving in chocolate milk, O inform J that there might be a fracture occurred in space-time continuum - simple English, someone travel back to the past to change the history. K's death means the Earth is not shield by ArcNet and the Bogladites now invading the Earth.

To cut the story short, J travel to the past and rescue his partner and everything is back to normal. The future Boris was killed finally - in the past.

The Avengers

Watched The Avengers with my brother, Kian Hin and sisters midnight yesterday. Overall, the movie is awesome. We have Chris Evans returning to reprise his role as Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Robert Downey Jr as the billionaire, genius, and philanthropist Tony Start aka the Iron Man, Scarlett Johannson as Agent Natasha Romanoff , Chris Hemsworth as the demi-God Thor. Pretty much most of them are from the Marvel comic movies are getting their roles.

The movie started off with S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury arrives at a remote S.H.I.E.L.D. facility during an evacuation. The Tesseract, an energy source of unknown potential, has activated and it opens a portal through space from which the exiled Norse god Loki steps through. Loki takes the Tesseract and uses his abilities to take control of the minds of several S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel including Dr. Erik Selvig and Agent Clint Barton to aid him in his getaway. In response to the attack, Fury re-activates the Avengers Initiative - which we know from the movie stopped for some reasons - we saw Nick Fury getting Tony Stark in the group, in Iron Man 2, don't we? Agent Romanoff were sent to find Dr Bruce Banner aka Hulk in India while Agent Coulson is sent to approach Tony Stark and Fury himself approach Steve Rogers.

We all know from the Thor movie that Loki was banished from Asgard in the final scene and during his exile, Loki encountered the Chitauri, an alien race seeking to conquer the galaxy. In exchange for the Tesseract, the Chitauri agree to help Loki subjugate Earth.

Suiting up, Captain America and Iron Man travel to Germany to apprehend Loki, who is recovering iridium needed to stabilize the Tesseracts power, and demanding that the civilians kneel before him. Loki quickly surrenders when the two heroes arrive, and he is escorted back to a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, a high-tech, flying aircraft carrier. However, Thor, Loki's half-brother and the Norse God of thunder, arrives and attempts to free Loki so he can try to reason with him on his own, but he gets into a fight with Iron Man and Captain America. If you asked me, the fight scene is awesome.

They still get Loki to the Helicarrier, and he is locked in a cell designed for Hulk. I find it funny the way Nick Fury say the ant and the boot parable. Anyway, while inside the Helicarrier, Tony Stark questioned why Fury reactivate something that the S.H.I.E.L.D. already called off previously - thus, making the team disintegrate and then as the group argue, Clint Barton and Lokis possessed agents attack the Helicarrier, disabling its engines in flight. As Stark and Rogers attempt to restart the damaged engines, Thor tries to prevent Dr. Banner from turning into the Hulk and destroying the ship from inside. While fighting Barton, Romanoff discovers that a blow to the head powerful enough to knock him unconscious is enough to break Lokis mind control. By the end of the battle, Loki escapes, Thor and Dr. Banner have been ejected from the ship and Agent Coulson is killed.

Fury uses Coulson's death to motivate Stark and Rogers to work together as a team, with Romanoff and Barton. However, when they realized Loki's plan, it was already too late as Loki open the portal to the Chitauri home world over Manhattan, summoning a Chitauri invasion using a device built by Dr. Selvig. Then the Avengers started to defend New York City from the Chitauri's invasion, but finally came to a conclusion that they will be overwhelmed.

With help from the reformed Barton, Captain America and Thor evacuate civilians while Dr. Banner transforms into the Hulk and goes after Loki, beating him into submission. Romanoff makes her way to the portal, and she hits Dr. Selvig over the head, freeing him of Lokis control. Dr. Selvig reveals that Lokis staff can be used to close the portal. In the meantime, the S.H.I.E.L.D. ordered to send a jet that will fires the nuclear missiles to end the invasion - Fury quickly informed the Avengers about that and Iron Man intercept the missile and direct it to the portal and fires the nuclear at the Chitauri's home.

The final scene have all the Avengers going separate ways and Thor escorting his brother Loki and Tesseract back to Asgard for good. I never waited for the post-credit scene, but there is a scene there, and it means we will have part 2 :D

[Lyrics] Enimem's No Apologies

Well, I'm quite a big fan of Eminem although my brother is not really one. (probably due to the foul words) but I think that for me not to post any lyrics of Eminem here will be a betrayal to my adoration to a man who can rap with such enthusiasm and power....

Here is one of my favourite: No Apologies

In my mind I'ma fighter, my heart's a lighter
My soul is the fluid, my flow sparks it right up
Arsenic writer, author with arthritis
Carpel tunnel, Marshall will start shit-itis
Hard headed and hot headed, bull headed and pig headed,
Dick headed, a prick, a big headache I'm sick
Quick witted, for every lyric spitted there are 6 critics
Who wait for me to slip with it, so quick
This dynamite stick buried the wick, it's gonna explode any minute
Some lunatic lit it and it's not Nelly
Do not tell me to stop yelling, when I stop selling I quit
So stop dwelling an I am not felling
You fuckers are not ready, cause I got jelly, like (Beyonce's) pot belly
This is Destiny, yes money I'm of running
So get off of me, I'm not slowing or softening

[Chorus]

No apologies, nah suckers I'm not sorry
You can all sue me, y'all could be the cause of me
No apologies, y'all feelin' the force of me
No remorse for me, like there was no recourse for me
No apologies, not even acknowledging you at all
'till I get a call that god's coming
No apologies, laugh fuckers it's all funny
I can spit in ya face while your standin' across from me, no apologies

[Verse 2]

My head hit's the pillow, a weeping willow, I can't sleep, a pain so deep it bellows
But these cellos help just to keep me mellow, hand's on my head, touched knees to elbow
I'm hunched over, emotion just flows over, these cold shoulders are both frozen, you don't know me
I keep saying it, I can't stress it enough, so keep playing it and stand next to the subs
I choke mic's like asphyxiation when I'm stranglin' my own throat masturbatin'
Fuck yeah i'ma basket case and I mastered this rap shit, 'till my ass gets wasted, 'till my
assassination,
'till I'm slain 'cause of some fag's infatuation
44 mags a fascination, a taste for disaster and if that's the case then..

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]

This song isn't for you, it's for me, a true MC
It's what it do just to see if he still has it
And if his skills mastered,
He's able to spill raps long after his killed, that's a real MC
Got you feelin' me, whether willing or unwillingly
You still agree, as long as there's still this hunger and will in me
Then expect a longer life expectancy
I'd be a savage beast if I ain't have this outlet to salvage me inside
I'd be exploding soaked in self loathing an mourning
So I'm warning you, don't coax me
It's silly, I'm really a sheep in wolf's clothing
Who only reacts when he gets pushed, don't be fooled
The press blows up this whole thing, it's stupid
They don't know cause they don't see that I'm wounded
All they did was ballooned it
I'm sick of talkin' 'bout these tattoos cartoon did
That's why I tuned it out, I'm sick of dukin'
An they can suck my dick while I'm pukin', an you too, you can

[Outro x2]

Expect no sympathy from me I'm an mc
This is how I'm supposed to be
Cold as a G, my hearts frozen it dont even beat
So expect no apologies

[Lyrics] Fun.'s We Are Young

Give me a second I,
I need to get my story straight
My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State
My lover she’s waiting for me just across the bar
My seat’s been taken by some sunglasses asking bout a scar, and
I know I gave it to you months ago
I know you’re trying to forget
But between the drinks and subtle things
The holes in my apologies, you know
I’m trying hard to take it back
So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I’ll carry you home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Now I know that I’m not
All that you got
I guess that I, I just thought
Maybe we could find new ways to fall apart
But our friends are back
So let’s raise a glass
‘Cause I found someone to carry me home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Just carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Just carry me home tonight (Nananananana)

The moon is on my side
I have no reason to run
So will someone come and carry me home tonight
The angels never arrived
But I can hear the choir
So will someone come and carry me home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I’ll carry you home tonight
