Transcendence

I would say that I'm quite impress with the movie Transcendence although there are not many good reviews about the movie. In fact, Rotten Tomatoes only give Transcendence 18%; while on average the movie is getting slightly below average rating.

The movie is about Doctor Will Caster (Johnny Depp); a foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence who was at that time working on a machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. His work made him famous and at the same time made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him.

An attempt of assassination finally become the catalyst for him to succeed in his experiment, by becoming a participant in his transcendence. In attempt to re-create Will, his wife, Evelyn and best friend Max Waters upload Will to the digital world, using the same concept of Will's machine, PINN - and eventually they succeeded.

However, their worst fear finally realized when Will's thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown and it is slowly becoming obvious there is no stopping him.

With the help from Max to create a virus which will eventually shut Will down, Evelyn agree to become the medium to upload the virus to the system, as Will trust no one except her. And we have the finale when Will - recreate his own body and image trying to stop Evelyn from uploading herself together with the virus to the system - although he eventually did upload knowing that doing so will shut "itself" down. So, the big question is, is Will really Will, or Will is just another A.I which is so smart that it can "act" like Will?

I am thinking, the movie is trying to suggest Will is Will because he still try to save his wife, Evelyn, knowing that when he tries to upload her to the system, it will destroy the whole system. I could be wrong though. So, what's your thought on the movie?

Lindsay Lohan's younger days photos

Lately, I have been following some of the celebrity news and Lohan is one of them....given the rehab swap that is on the news.  But really, what turns an innocent young child into such a troubled life (so to say). I am not sure what happen along the way but looking back at the old photos, you just somehow have the belief and hope of her coming out strong again. We are definitely not going to have the young, innocent Lindsay Lohan again but at least we're hoping for her recovery in the rehab center.
