RED 2

Well, when the movie RED first came out on the cinema, I was curious and the movie amazed me. The 2010 movie was awesome, and it was inspired by the limited comic book series of the same name, created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, and published by the DC Comics imprint Homage.

So, when they talk about RED 2, I'm quite excited about the movie. Check out this poster and you know what I mean...

RETIRED EXTREMELY DANGEROUS

But just as most movies fail to live up the expectation for their first movie, the same happened to the sequel of RED. RED 2 was not bad, but it's just not good.

I totally agree with what was mentioned by Justin Change of Variety, "An obligatory sequel that can't quite recapture the sly, laid-back pleasures of its cheerfully ridiculous predecessor."

Anyway, I'll keep my review on another time but if you wanna know the synopsis for this movie, please continue reading (spoiler included):

While trying to lead a normal life with girlfriend Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker), Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is approached by Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), who is afraid that there are people following them, but Frank shrugs him off. After appealing a second time, Marvin drives off, but his car is blown up. Sarah convinces Frank, who does not believe Marvin is dead, to go to Marvin's funeral, and after the funeral, Frank is taken to be interrogated at a Yankee White Facility.

During the interrogation, Jack Horton (Neal McDonough) appears, killing most of the facility's personnel, and tells Frank that he will torture Sarah in order to get information out of Frank. Frank manages to escape with the help of Marvin, who turns out to be alive, and they go on the run with Sarah. Marvin explains that he and Frank were being hunted down because they were listed as participants in a secret operation codenamed Nightshade. The operation was conducted during the Cold War era in order to smuggle a nuclear weapon into Russia piece by piece. Victoria (Helen Mirren) calls and tells them she has accepted a contract from MI6 to kill Frank. Meanwhile, top contract killer Han Cho-Bai (Lee Byung-hun) is hired to kill Frank as well.

Frank, Marvin, and Sarah travel to Paris to track down a man nicknamed "The Frog" (David Thewlis), with Han, whose plane they stole, and the Americans on their tails. As they arrive in Paris, they are stopped by Katya (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a Russian secret agent who Frank had a relationship with earlier in his career. Katya is in search of Nightshade as well, and teams up with them to find The Frog. After The Frog flees from them, Frank and Katya catch him and bring him back to his house, where Sarah succeeds in wooing him to help them. The Frog gives them the key to his security box, which Katya attempts to get from Frank after drugging him, but it turns out Marvin had planted a fake key on Frank. He, Frank, and Sarah later find documents in The Frog's security box which point to Dr. Edward Bailey (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant physicist, as the creator of the bomb involved with Operation Nightshade.

They find out that Bailey is still alive, having been held in an asylum for the criminally insane in London for thirty-two years. After arriving by the stolen jet in London, the trio are confronted by Victoria, but Victoria helps to fake their deaths. Victoria then poses as an insane woman in order to gain access to the asylum. Frank and Victoria meet Bailey, who is hyperactive and does not respond to their questions. After a while, Bailey reveals that the bomb is still in Moscow. They go to Moscow, and after a close call with Han, Bailey comes to the conclusion that he hid the bomb in the Kremlin. They break into the Kremlin, and Bailey locates the bomb, but as they are about to leave, they are stopped by Katya. Frank convinces his former lover to switch to their side. As all are celebrating success, Victoria calls Frank from London and tells him that Bailey was locked up because he wanted to see the bomb go off. Bailey holds Frank at gunpoint and confirms Victoria's message, revealing that he made a deal with Horton and the Americans to leave with the bomb. He then shoots Katya, staging her death at Frank's hands, and leaves. Horton reneges on his deal with Bailey, intending to question him, but Bailey escapes by using a nerve agent he created. Bailey moves to the Iranian embassy in London, and as Frank attempts to follow, he is confronted by Han, and after a fistfight, Frank asks Han to join sides with him and stop the bomb. Han eventually relents, and they set in place a plan to recapture Bailey and the bomb.

Sarah seduces the Iranian ambassador and takes him hostage on the pretext of women's rights in Iran. Marvin sets in place a diversion, and the rest come in disguise to "fix" the problem. When they arrive, they discover that Bailey has set the bomb timer off. Bailey kidnaps Sarah and goes to the airport to escape the imminent explosion. Frank, Marvin, Victoria, and Han give chase, but are themselves chased by guards from the embassy. After they escape, they arrive at the airport, and Frank saves Sarah from Bailey, but is forced by him to take the bomb off the plane. They reunite with Marvin, Victoria, and Han and wait for their imminent deaths, but the bomb explodes in the air. Frank reveals that he snuck the bomb on the plane. The movie closes with a scene showing Sarah enjoying herself on a mission with Frank and Marvin.

[Lyrics] A Little Less Conversation by Elvis Presley

The other day I was googling for some songs when I come across this. The lyrics were tricky, the tune was upbeat and interesting, the vocal unlike many I heard....when I googled it, to my surprise....artist: Elvis Presley. Song Title: A Little Less Conversation.

For some reasons, it helps me to understand why some people are so in love with Elvis even after so many years of his death.

Check out the lyrics of this song and the video found on Youtube.

A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby

Baby close your eyes and listen to the music
Drifting through a summer breeze
It's a groovy night and I can show you how to use it
Come along with me and put your mind at ease

A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby

Come on baby I'm tired of talking
Grab your coat and let's start walking
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Don't procrastinate, don't articulate
Girl it's getting late, gettin' upset waitin' around

A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me

Satisfy me baby

R.I.P.D (3D)

Once a cop, always a cop.

Well, you probably wouldn't believe this but Hollywood is bringing something more to the Big Screen...,the police force of the underworld....welcome to R.I.P.D, the Rest In Peace Department....

Summary:

Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline the 3D supernatural action-adventure R.I.P.D. as two cops dispatched by the otherworldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of souls who refuse to move peacefully to the other side.

Veteran sheriff Roy Pulsifer (Bridges) has spent his career with the legendary police force known as R.I.P.D. tracking monstrous spirits who are cleverly disguised as ordinary people. His mission? To arrest and bring to justice a special brand of criminals trying to escape final judgment by hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth.

Once the wise-cracking Roy is assigned former rising-star detective Nick Walker (Reynolds) as his junior officer, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, two of R.I.P.D.’s finest must miraculously restore the cosmic balance…or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the very wrong way.

R.I.P.D. is directed by Robert Schwentke (Red) and produced by Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious series, I Am Legend), Mike Richardson (Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army) and Michael Fottrell (Fast & Furious series, Live Free or Die Hard).

Well, who is looking forward to it? It seems that Reynolds is involved in a lot of movies lately...

Turbo, the best animated movie of the year

Turbo, the best animated movie of the year....is coming soon...out this week in the 19th of July....if you are not excited about it, you must be missing something....

DreamWorks already has a website on this movie....check it out for more details pal.

I am not sure bout you guys but I am definitely excited about the movie...the trailer looks awesome and come on...this is DreamWorks we are talking about...each new movies seem to be better than the previous one....remember Madagascar? Remember KungFu Panda? This animated movie is serious stuff here, with a lot of creativity, moral values in it. I'm definitely going for it.
If you do not know what the movie is about, Turbo is a high-velocity 3D comedy about an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out es-car-goes, Turbo learns that no one succeeds on their own.
So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500.
So, if this is not exciting for you, I'm not really sure what is...a snail going for a race competition....genius!
Check out some of the images here...

Slow no more...

Find your crew and CHASE YOUR DREAM

I was looking at the video and some of the quotes from the trailer...check this out:

Chet: Put all that racing nonsense behind you and start living your life.
Turbo: I have a life?

And the tagline:

No dream is too big, and no dreamer is too small.

[Review] "The Lone Ranger" is different

With so many movies out there, one must be wondering why I opt to watch "The Lone Ranger". Well, I guess the reason for it is simply this: Johnny Depp. Before going for the movie, I was reluctant because of the bad reviews everywhere. I don't blame those reviews because in a lot way, Depp seems to carry his "Jack Sparrow" character with him. But come to think of it, this is Johnny Depp....and this is how he act, even before Captain Jack Sparrow. It is just that once Pirates hit the top charts, it has been the comparison for all his other movies.

Anyway, back to "The Lone Ranger", I think it is a very different movie. Different in an odd manner such that most audience find it difficult to relate to. If you watch the movie, you will find that the beginning of the movie is odd enough.

Oh, and for really no reason whatsoever, the movie is framed by a very old Tonto, who now works as a living mannequin at some sort of side show. Old Tonto tells a young child about his adventures with the Lone Ranger. The violence in the movie tells us that Lone Ranger is not for kids, but the bumping back and forth between the violence shown and the humorous part of the movie makes it a little hard to digest.

In one scene, a character is getting his heart cut out and eaten; the next, Depp's Tonto is hamming it up with a horse. In one scene, cannibalistic flesh-eating rabbits devour one of their own; in the next, the aforementioned horse has just climbed a tree. Then, out of nowhere, Helena Bonham Carter starts shooting people with a gun that also happens to be her leg. I find that "The Lone Ranger" is fantastic and in fact, I would go for the movie again but I understand why it is not the "you should watch this" kind of movie. Really, the partnership between Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer is simply amazing...and the last 20 minutes of the movie is simply perfect.

Anyway, there are so many who are giving a terrible rating for Lone Ranger, but really, if you start to take the movie as it is, regardless of how odd it is, then you will start to appreciate the movie. The Lone Ranger is definitely a different kind of movie.

'Glee' star Cory Monteith found dead in Vancouver hotel room

Canadian actor Cory Monteith, 31-year-old heart throb of Fox's musical-comedy television series "Glee", was found dead on Saturday in his Vancouver hotel room, police said.

Police and paramedics found no signs of foul play and the cause of death was not immediately apparent, British Columbia Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe told reporters at a news conference.

Monteith had talked about his problems with substance abuse.

In response to a question about whether Monteith died of a drug overdose, Vancouver Police Department acting chief Doug LePard said he would "not discuss anything that we might have found in the room at this time".

"We only notified family members about an hour ago, so we haven't even been able to have those conversations with them," he said.

Monteith, whose "Glee" character Finn Hudson was a high school football player turned enthusiastic glee club - or musical group - singer, was treated at a rehabilitation facility for an unspecified substance addiction this year.

[Lyrics] Tunnel Vision by Justin Timberlake

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

Don't know why but girl

I'm feeling close to you, maybe this ocean view

I'm so emotional, and all these stars been dancing on my head

Too long, too long, too long

I wrote a song for you, I wanna sing to you

But every time I'm close to you, the words wanna come out, but I forget

It's so strong, it's so strong, it's so strong

Didn't I seem like I'm catching something. That's because it's true

I can't deny it, and I won't try it but I think that you know

I look around and everything I see is beautiful 'cause all I see is you

And I can't deny it and I stand by it, and I won't hide it anymore

A crowded room anywhere, a million people around, all I see is you

And that everything just disappears, disappears, disappears, disappears

Yeah a million people in a crowded room

But my camera lenses only been set to zoom

And it all becomes so clear, becomes so clear, becomes so clear

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision, I only see you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision, I only see you

Now that I know the truth, what am I supposed to do?

Changing up and breaking all my rules ever since we met

I'm so gone, I'm so gone, I'm so gone

Just like a movie shoot, I'm zooming in on you

Everything is extra, in the background, just fades into the set

As we ride off into the sun

Didn't I seem like I'm catching something. That's because it's true

I can't deny it, and I won't try it but I think that you know

I look around and everything I see is beautiful 'cause all I see is you

And I can't deny it and I stand by it, and I won't hide it anymore

A crowded room anywhere, a million people around, all I see is you

That everything just disappears, disappears, disappears, disappears

Yeah a million people in a crowded room

But my camera lenses only been set to zoom

And it all becomes so clear, becomes so clear, becomes so clear

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision, I only see you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision, I only see you

Zoom zoom zoom....

Zoom zoom zoom in on you

I only see you!

Zoom zoom zoom....

Zoom zoom zoom in on you

I only see you!

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

A crowded room anywhere, a million people around, all I see is you

That everything just disappears, disappears, disappears, disappears

Yeah a million people in a crowded room

But my camera lenses only been set to zoom

And it all becomes so clear, becomes so clear, becomes so clear

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision, I only see you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision for you

I got that tunnel vision, I only see you

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I only see you

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I know you like it, I know you like it

I only see you, yeah.
